HappnIN (“we”, “our”, or “the platform”) serves as the central campus event, fest, and student society discovery portal for students, faculty, and organizers across Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS) and Manav Rachna University (MRU). We take student data privacy seriously and adhere to responsible data protection standards, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act.
2. Information We Collect
We only collect information necessary to facilitate event discovery, secure registration passes, and campus notifications:
- Account & Profile Information: Name, university email address, roll number, department, academic year, and chosen profile role (Student, Coordinator, Organizer, or Admin).
- Event Registrations & Attendance: Digital passes issued to you, check-in timestamps, attendance status verified by authorized event coordinators, and registered events history.
- Push Notification Subscriptions: Browser-generated Web Push subscription endpoints if you grant permission to receive real-time event alerts and schedule updates.
- Device Camera Access: Requested strictly for organizers and coordinators during live check-ins to scan attendee QR codes. No photos or video recordings are saved or transmitted to third parties.
3. How We Use & Safeguard Your Information
Your data is processed strictly for campus operations:
- Validating campus event capacity and generating cryptographically signed QR registration passes.
- Delivering timely reminders and schedule change alerts for registered events.
- Providing student societies and coordinators with anonymized or aggregate attendee counts.
- Protecting platform integrity using rate limiting, fraud mitigation, and role-based access control (RLS).
4. Cookies & Local Storage
HappnIN uses strictly essential cookies required for maintaining your authenticated session via Supabase Auth and Vercel edge deployment. Anonymous, cookieless performance metrics may be collected via Vercel Analytics to monitor page speed and error rates. No third-party behavioral advertising cookies are placed on your device.
5. Student Rights & Account Deletion
Under student privacy regulations, you have the right to:
- Access, update, or correct your profile information via your account settings.
- Unsubscribe from Web Push notifications or email alerts at any time.
- Request permanent deletion of your account and registration history from the platform.
